In 1 John 5:13, the apostle John writes, “I write these things to you… so that you may know that you have eternal life.”

“These things” refers to the entire letter of 1 John—a letter filled with tests of genuine faith. God doesn’t want His children to live with uncertainty, but rather to experience assurance grounded in truth.
